it seems that with all the amazing an fun apps they have for the iPhone now someone would create a flash / java runtime environment so we could do everything and also watch flash movies! Don't ya think?

Adobe needs to write a flash plugin for the iPhone, unless these hackers can reverse engineer flash and write it ... which I doubt is possible given the lack of Flash 8 for Linux for what? A little over a year?

There's an open source flash plugin but it only supports Flash 6, methinks.

The SWF format is publically available, but you have to agree only to use that knowledge to only write something that writes Flash, not read it.

As for Linux, Adobe went straight to Flash 9.
