Hi all. I have a Powermac MDD Dual 867 Mhz G4 'the wind tunnel macs'..LOL

I'm replacing the 2 power supply fans.

I got a hold of 3 different thermaltake fans. All of them are 60x60x25mm.

One of them, an old (approx 4 years old) Thermaltake Volcano 5 has an amp rating of 0.19 amp.

The other 2 fans have rated currents of 0.17 and 0.32 amps. These 2 fans are brand new.

I know for sure that the Volcano 5 would work with my power supply but like I said it's old and it probably has anohter year of life in it.

Which fans should I use in my power supply? How does the different current ratings affect my decision if they have any affect at all..

Thanks

I'm only really here at night.
that little of a diff in amp ratings aint gonna matter, unless of course, you've already got 100's of other high-amperage devices suckin lotsa juice from the psu........

However, generally, the higher the amps, the faster the fan can run, and therefore probably be capable of moving a bit more air, depending on the overall design. Also generally, the more air it moves, the more noise the fan will make......
