The jailbreak sounds amazing and I'm so so close to doing it. However, what are the security implications of actually using one of these jailbreak applications?

Have people examined the programme script etc to see if there is anything malicious within them? Ie spyware or some sort of malicious code that could be sending private information somewhere? That is my only concern with the jailbreakign of my ipod as I don't want email passwords etc revealed to hackers etc.

I'm no expert so if someone wuld be so kind as to fill me in then I'd be very grateful...

I suppose in this day and age everyone is extremely security concerned!

All of the files needed are accessible.

I'm sure that some people look at the source to see how everything is done. If they found anything suspicious, you probably wouldn't hear the end of it.

I think that it is fine in regards to your personal information

yeah, its all safe, the only thing i would worry about is that the default password for both sftp and ssh is alpine. and im sure not many people have changed it.
