Question about uploading photos to cloud

I have added bunch of photos to Photos app, where do I see how many photos are being or are left to be uploaded to icloud. I know there is an option that will show you, but for the life of me I cant find it.

Go to the Photos Tab in the app and scroll down the bottom. If it’s uploading it’ll tell you there

If you go to System Preferences --> iCloud, does Photos have a checkmark next to it? If you click on options, is iCloud Photos enabled?
