So I was under the impression that the apple tv could handle h.264 profile level 4.1, but I see that a lot of MKV's I convert using visualhub come out as 3.1. I'm just wondering if the profile level really even matters too much in terms of video quality, and if it is somewhat important, if there's a way to convert these mkvs to 4.1. I've read the technical differences between 3.1 and 4.1 but I'm just wanting some insight if there's any real noticeable advantages for 720p stuff.

If you search the ATV forum, you'll hut a pretty lengthy topic about the mkv issues and ATV.
