Question regarding the battery

on a new machine

I noticed an odd behavior.

When I take the machine off power and put power back, the machine turns off.

I suspect this is not normal but this is the first mac to grace this house.

No and thanks for the life of me, I could not find that last night. Though when I put the cursor on it, it has the battery charged grayed out.

(I'm starting to realize why this machine was probably returned)

Welll took the machine back

And yes it was a lemon... now will look at small dogs... boy after the attempted switch and bait...
