It seems you cannot trim oit sections of an image besides clipping mask correctL and you always have to select the part you want showing but cant seletc parts to cut off? Also, this is the real wuetsion, you cant make a clipping mask and trace thats ection to vectorize it? You have to trace the entire bitmap image at once?

Yes, that's correct, you can't trim out a section of a pixel image, you can from a vector image. Illustrator is a vector programme so the only way to show a part of a pixel image is a clipping mask which just literally masks a part of the image. You can't vectorise a part of a bigger pixel image.
I mentioned that to him in one of his other threads (which are actually kind of entertaining, if you like drama). He said that they're just typos from going between separate keyboards. Doesn't care, though, especially on online forums.
Not true. You can crop an image and remove the excess pixel data. However, that's only relevant here if the image is a rectangular shape - which it probaby isn't.
