It seems you cannot trim oit sections of an image besides clipping mask correctL and you always have to select the part you want showing but cant seletc parts to cut off? Also, this is the real wuetsion, you cant make a clipping mask and trace thats ection to vectorize it? You have to trace the entire bitmap image at once?

I can't for the life of me understand what you're saying or asking. If I guess what you're asking, it appears that you have the solution, you just don't want to accept it.

Yes, that's correct, you can't trim out a section of a pixel image, you can from a vector image. Illustrator is a vector programme so the only way to show a part of a pixel image is a clipping mask which just literally masks a part of the image. You can't vectorise a part of a bigger pixel image.
