So first off let me say I found it for $38 while it still goes for $60 most anywhere online. Anyways two questions:

1. I dont have any speakers to test the audio of the dock but -should- headphones work in the audio out?

2. The remote with it no matter if I try to pair it or not seems to not work. My understanding is it should simply work regardless. Is the battery dead brand new?

Where is it $38 at? I'm looking for one cheaper than $60.

As I said at Walmart. Anyone have an answer for me though?

Where did you mention Walmart ? :p

You don't need to pair the remote - it should work straight out of the box.

Chances are that the battery is dead - you will need a CR3032 replacement.

Yes. your headphones will work in the audio output socket if you want to check it works.
