Quicktime scrubbing problem

When trying to scrub backwards with two-finger trackpad scrubbing in Quicktime, the video restarts from the beginning (instead of just scrubbing). But it only happens the first time you try to scrub backwards. Scrubbing works fine every subsequent time. Anyone else seeing this? This is Quicktime 10.5 in Mojave.
