I've opened only Mail, iMessage, Skype, Excel, Safari, iTunes and Last.fm. Nearly all 8 GB of RAM is being used, or at least that's what Activity Monitor is saying. It's not like I'm experiencing any slowness in performance, just wanted to know if it's normal.

Cheers.

Its perfectly normal. As long as your memory pressure is green, you've got nothing to worry about. Yellow, indicates you're running low and red indicates you've basically exhausted all available RAM and are frequently swapping to disk, at which point you might experience performance degradation. Your stats look very healthy. Enjoy your mac.
