ReadyNAS Duo or ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer Edition vs. HP EX487 MediaSmart Server?

I am looking at purchasing either the new Mac mini or new iMac when they arrive. I am also planning to purchase a ReadyNAS Duo or ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer Edition. Although I am mostly gunning for the NETGEAR ReadyNAS units, I do have my eye on the HP EX487 MediaSmart Server. Pardon this newbie question, however, is the EX487 MediaSmart Server considered a NAS unit? Does the MediaSmart incorporate any type of RAID like the ReadyNAS units do?

Also, how does the HP EX487 MediaSmart Server compare to either the NETGEAR ReadyNAS Duo or ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer Edition?
