sorry, this may be a newbie type question but...
anyone have a recommend for what is a good device to interface the built-in digital audio optical out from my imac to my unpowered studio monitor speakers? excluding replacing my amp with a home theater amp? i hope to upgrade to surround sound mixing in the near future and i already have a good quality speakers and a nice rack mount amp so i would like to keep using them. (and would prefer a rack solution to fit in with the current look of things. i guess i really need is some kind of decoder to separate the 5.1 channel info to analogue to feed my amp and future amps.
thanks a bunch!
