recovering OS7 files

I used to have a Powerbook 170 (running OS7+).
I saved a whole lot of word documents to floppy disk and they've been sitting in a drawer for the last 10 years.
I just got a new G4 Powerbook.

How on earth can i get the info off the old floppy disks.
I don't have a floppy drive, but even if I did, would the disks be readable?
How can I get that info?

You can buy a USB floppy drive and read them that way. They will be readable on a modern Mac. I've recently been transferring data off of a System 6 Mac onto Zip disks then reading the Zip disks in a USB Zip drive on a G5, and it works flawlessly. USB floppy drives are probably available at most standard computer stores, although I haven't had any reason to check. You can definitely order them online, and I think they're available at the online Apple store. It's worth noting that USB floppy drives will only read 1.44 MB floppies, and not 400K, 720K or 800K disks.
