I use MultiMarkdown for almost all my writing and document preparation. On my iOS devices I use 1Writer as my editor and MarkDown previewer. A major issue with this is that I can't get images to display inside a Markdown document.
Some of the link types I've tried are shown below:
# Four images should appear below!
### Image link
![Emissions are from fuel combustion and include road-sector emissions](Carbon-Pricing-Works.png)
### Image link (local)
![Emissions are from fuel combustion and include road-sector emissions. Best, Burke, Jotzo 2020][img1]
[img1]: Carbon-Pricing-Works.jpg border=2px width=700px
### Image link to the original file using Markdown syntax
![Emissions are from fuel combustion and include road-sector emissions](https://images.theconversation.com/files/346590/original/file-20200709-87076-1mwg82r.jpg)
### Image link to the original file using HTML syntax
<img src='https://images.theconversation.com/...0&q=45&auto=format&w=600&h=414&fit=crop&dpr=1' alt='Emissions are from fuel combustion and include road-sector emissions. Best, Burke, Jotzo 2020' border=2px width=700px>
The two links that use the original (web-based) image file work. The two that try to access a copy of the image in the same folder as the Markdown document do not work.
It seems that I am getting the relative file link within iCloud/Files wrong.
Can anybody please suggest a fix (other than ditching Markdown).
Regards,
Peter
