Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to resize a quicktime file for the web? What i am using now is far too big and not able to play on most machines. What package do I use to resize it?

You will need a QT pro license.

open you movie in QT pro > export (apple+e) > options > then select you video & sound settings. From there you will have to play about with "compression types", size & quality settings to get your best result for your movie.
