I want to buy an external monitor specifically for my MBP and according to everymac.com its maximum resolution supported on an external display is 2560 × 1600.
a. If I buy a 2560 × 1440 (aka QHD) monitor, will I be able to select and use a 2560 × 1440 resolution (in System Preferences > Displays) ?
b. Are there ever any black borders (either vertically or horizontally) when selecting different resolutions, or do the options offered automatically optimize without using black borders, or even worse stretching the image output?
