Hey everyone, I have an old time machine backup that may have a project one it I'm trying to get to. I don't have a fcpx backup of the project, just this old time machine backup. Is there any way to restore just the. project or do I basically have to copy and paste the time machine backup (nearly 4TB) to another drive just so I can open it? I tried opening it from the time machine folder but the permissions won't allow me. Any ideas?

Do you mean, you cannot browse the Time Machine backups in Finder due to permissions? Has your username changed since the backup?

If you can browse the Time Machine backups, go to the USERS / YOU / MOVIES / Final Cut Backups folder.

If you cannot browse via Finder, are you comfortable with Terminal? Maybe the sudo (SuperUser DO) command can help circumventing the permissions. Or the root user.
