MP 6,1 Risks with running Windows 11 from external disk

It is a newbie's question, but I am newbie in the Forum so hopefully I won't be "shot". How risky is it, for the EFI and all that stuff, to run Windows 11 on the 6,1 from an external USB 3.0 disk?

I only got it running via eSATA-Thunderbolt. I did not get it working with USB. But eSATA runs just fine, it does not know that it is external.

The 6,1 can only boot off of Thunderbolt, not USB. If you have a TB2 drive, it will work for booting into Windows. I did it for many years.
