I have the first line of rMBP 2012 which I use when traveling, while on a daily basis I use Mac Pro 5,1 "Six Core" 3.33 (Westmere) with updated graphics to RX580 and 32GB 1333 MHz RAM, "patched" Catalina OS and 27" + 24" displays. Both have served me extremely well for many years.
Since latest OS support for both have been dropped and since M1X is the first Macbook Pro I would consider since rMBP (never liked the OLED touch bar), I am thinking if it is a good idea to replace my setup with M1X and one of these ultra wide 49" monitors (e.g. DELL). M1X screen would be pretty much closed all the time.
Thoughts?
