Hey

I have an Onkyo TX-SR 600 receiver, a sony DVD player and a toshiba widescreen TV. I was told its better to only run the audio through the Receiver NOT the video. He said I would get a better picture if I ran the video directly to the tv, is this true?

Its possibly true, but DVDs are full HD yet, so its really not an issue. Maybe if you're pumping true 720p or 1080i/p through there... Otherwise the receiver just has a switch to change between the different video sources. Theres no video processing or anything in there.

Basically, you will not (or should not) notice a difference.
