I am getting a powerbook G4 400mhz. It is permanently closed. Does this model use the keyboard to disperse heat? Will it be able to fold without overheating? Does this model have a heat sensor on the CPU?

All G4 PowerBooks can operate in clamshell mode. I believe this was first implemented with the G3 "Bronze" PowerBooks.
Some people still shy away from running processor-intensive tasks in clamshell mode, but my feeling is that it's okay.
