Hi everyone,

First post!

I have a Macbook Pro 2011 17" with a permanently disabled AMD dGPU (modified EFI through Linux and also removed resistor R8911 to cut voltage to the dGPU). Currently running Sierra as an easy option to retain the control of brightness with the least effort.

I know my specs (i7-2760QM/16GB/1TB SSD) are good enough to run Windows 10 as VM but I was just curious whether it is possible to let Windows recognize the iGPU if installed via Bootcamp.

I have read about rEFInd and OCLP, it seems both have the capability to alter the booting processes, either forcing them to disable eGPU or a dedicated GPU if there is more than one. Unfortunately, it seems the method is designed for hackintosh, so I am not too sure if it works for mac computers, too?

At the moment, the screen will just go black if I try to boot Windows installation through EFI.

Anyone might shed a light?

Thanks,
David
