This could be a really basic question so I apologise for my ignorance.

I switched over to a new iPhone (8) recently. Previously when using the iPhone SE I would click a link on Safari and usually if the appropriate app was on my phone then the app would be launched

e.g I click on a youtube link and the video opens in the Youtube app.
e.g2 I click on a link for an article by the NYTimes and as I have the app the news article opens in the NYTimes app.
You get the picture.

Now on the new iPhone I click on these links and the video or news article load in safari. It doesn't give as good as an experience. Sure the same thing happens but just not as well.

Is there something I need to change in my settings? It doesn't seem like something Apple would just make changes to in iOS.
