I love to use Safari's shared links and feeds feature to keep up to date with the latest wallpapers (and other kind of files) that are posted. The only thing I miss though, is an option to notify me when something is added to the RSS channel. Occasionally, wallpapers are deleted soon after, so it would be nice to be reminded as soon as something is added.

Is there any way to enable this in Safari, officially or with a workaround?. If not, I might consider going back to IFTTT, but I still prefer the overview that is offered in the links and feeds bar.

I have not found an adequate method using Safari. Firefox can do this easily, but I do not think Safari has the same capability. In place of Safari, I use iTunes to for podcasts RSS feeds. I don't know how well this will work for other types of media.
