A new phenomenon when using the Safari search bar with the Magic Keyboard is that the space key now triggers the enter function, so that if you’re trying to type a multi-word search phrase, as soon as you hit the space bar whatever you have typed is entered as the search. This is hugely annoying, requiring me to open the on-screen keyboard in order to do a search. Is there a workaround for this?

which iPad model? which iPadOS version?

for what’s worth: on 11” iPP 2020 and 2021 and iPadOS 15.1 I have no problems typing in multiword search phrases with spaces.

EDIT: does it work if you disconnect the MKB?

That’s not happening here. Maybe some modifier key function in Accessibility?

From researching, it looks like the problem is Switch Control, which moves me out of the search bar as soon as I use the space bar. I have gone into settings, but it is switched off. In fact, I can’t even turn it on to switch it back off. I may have to call support. It’s very annoying.
