Hi.

I have an old MBP(macOS Catalina v.10.15.7 and Safari v.13.1.3). I'm trying to install a Safari VPN plug-in so I can gaming on my old MBP.

I have never used a Safari VPN plug-ins, so which ones would you recommend? Which version of the plug-ins will work with my old macOS and browser?

Is there anything I should aware of before installing the VPN plug-ins?

Thanks in advance.

I don't believe there are any VPN plugins available for Safari, at least to my knowledge. VPNs typically operate at Layer 3 or 4, while browsers operate at Layer 4 and above. You can simply use any VPN service. Your Safari traffic will go through the VPN connection.

If you want to play games in browser, there are browsers with free VPN build in:
Opera https://www.opera.com/ro/features/vpn
Epic Privacy Browser https://www.epicbrowser.com/our-key-features.html

If you want to play games (apps) that only allow connections from a specific country, you need a VPN service and it can be set up directly into Network preferences.

I want to play games in browser. Does that mean I cannot use VPNs, but only VPN plug-ins? Are there VPN plug-ins for Firefox(Mac version)?

Open one of the pages in Firefox, click on the button Add to Firefox, then on Add and Okay. Click on the installed extension in the top-right corner of Firefox and follow the steps to create an account. Log in and connect to a VPN server.

Just as a curiosity, no need to answer, what game requires a VPN?
