I'm in the process of turning my Mac Mini into a home server using MacOS Server. I created 2 login accounts to access the shared files from a couple of my devices. The devices I tried to access the shares from are a laptop running Windows 10, an iPad Pro running iOS 10, and an Android smartphone running Marshmallow 6.0.1.

The laptop had no issue connecting with either account. The iPad was able to access the files using Documents 5. But with Android, I cannot access the shares. I tried 3 different apps, including ES File Explorer, and none could connect. I either get wrong username/password errors, which I'm using the same login info used on the laptop or iPad, or it can't find the server, even though it came up in a Scan of the network.

Is there a setting I'm missing on my phone? I've only had this phone for about a week and it's my first time really using an Android device.

Update: found a way, using FTP and it works perfectly
