Ok thanks are these available in the online apple shop? Does it give a good picture quality when you use a TV as an external monitor?

The PC D-Sub port is designed for use with a PC/Mac, DVI ti the HDMI port may work, but is discouraged. The adapter is available in Apple stores.

I have a 40" Sammy as a second display on my iMac and would not recommend it as a main display, but as a secondary for iPhoto/QT/VLC it's great.
