iPhone 6(S)/Plus Saving Youtube videos onto iPhone?

I own an iPhone 6S and would like to either save a few Youtube videos onto it OR at least save/bookmark the links to the videos within Safari.

Can anyone explain to me this can be done?

Bookmark is easy. Hit the share button on the bottom. It looks like a box with an upward pointing arrow then click Bookmark

There was a website that let you download YouTube vids when entering the link but ithasbeen shut down

You can also click the + right below the video on the YouTube page and add it to “watch later” or whatever. It saves it on your YouTube account. That is probably the easiest way.

I don't have a YT account but, this should work on the phone . This will work with iPad and keyboard without an account as well as Mac. I use this shortcut a lot save right to the the folder I want in the cloud.

I usually watch YouTube on my Mac but when I’m out and about I watch on my iPhone using Safari. I don’t see the point of the app because there’s no advantage or extra features and it’s another Google app on my phone that could be a security and privacy risk.

Another way to download videos easily is to get youtube premium, it's a paid service but it's more convenient.

$12 a month is a bit much. If I watched a lot of videos on my phone I might to avoid the ads but I’m usually on my Mac
