Can anyone help? When I haven't used my Mac Mini for a short while, my screen goes black, as it should do. But recently, it's acting strangely: if I hit a key, the screen only bursts into life for a couple of seconds, then it goes black again for a couple of seconds and then comes to life again, finally allowing me to log in. If I try to log in when it first bursts into life, I don't have time to type all the keys of my password so I have to delete them and start again.

It never used to do this. By the by, I no longer have the Mac "chime" when I start the machine up. Maybe that has something to do with it. I am working on IoS 11.5.2

This is really bugging me. Anyone got any ideas?
