Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that the SD card slot is back on the new MacBook Pro's but why not the increasingly common and faster CF Express type B. I get that SD is still more common for the consumer market but a lot of "Pro" cameras are using CF Express now and that wold seam more appropriate for a "Pro" computer.

What if they did like they used to with the 17" MBP and do different slots on the different sizes? SD on the 14" and CF Express on the 16".

SD cards are still used in prosumer cameras. Professional cameras like red and what not use custom SSDs.

Relatively few cameras use CF Express.
MANY cameras use SD cards.

That's why.

Yes, it's also an acknowledgement that "pro" users doesn't mean just actual videographers whose higher-end cameras use CF Express, but also YouTube / TikTok people who will more likely shoot with cameras that use SD cards.
