Second Drive Permissions

Hello,

Added a second HD to my Mac Mini (2012) and the SSD is the main boot drive. I use the old 1TB drive for most files, and when moving or deleting I get a password prompt. The Disk Utility for repair permissions is greyed out? I have checked ownership and I'm using the same username 'billy' and applied to enclosed items. I have only touched my own home directory.
