Is there a monitor I can buy to hook up to my 27-inch 2014 iMac that will work with "Automatically adjust brightness" in my Displays Preferences? My iMac has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M graphics card, but is not retina (its internal display runs at 2560x1440 native). Right now I'm using an old ViewSonic (VX2450 23.5 inch running at 1920x1080) but I'd like to upgrade. Doesn't have to be 4K or the expensive 5K Apple just announced, just something close to 2560x1440 that works with the auto brightness iMac feature.

OTOH, if nothing out there works with auto brightness and that new 5K monitor DOES work with auto brightness, I'd like to hear about it, especially if there was some way it could come close to matching 2560x1440 without distorting in any way.

Thanks for any advice/ideas!
