Seeking recommendations for a camera

Just thought I'd get some advice from as many people on this problem as possible.

I have recently gotten into film through some film-making friends of mine. Obviously I don't want to continually borrow their equipment for my projects, so I'm looking to buy my own camera. Here's what I'm Looking for:

• Moderate price ($600-$800, possibly up to $1000 MSRP if I can find a good deal on a refurbished model)
• At least one CCD
• Microphone Jack
• Firewire output
• Not too many bells and whistles
• 16.9 Widescreen Capability
• MiniDV

There are probably a few more things I should look for in a camera, but I don't know too much about them. The highest quality of film I need is for independent film type projects, but I don't want an XL1 or GL1 or some HD camera because I don't know how long I'm going to be doing this. I'll soon be acquiring FCP, so no worries there. Thanks again.
