I prepared for this morning's order by selecting an unlocked phone and then provided my AT&T details. I chose to pay with the Apple upgrade program. My current phone is an unlocked iPhone X. I only chose my carrier during the pre-order process to make the upgrade process with the carrier go as smoothly as possible.
When I completed the order this morning it shows that my order is for "AT&T" and I see a one-time $30 upgrade fee from AT&T.
What the heck? Did Apple switch my phone from the non-contract version iPhone to an AT&T locked version?
