I'm currently in the process of selling my old house (House #1) and living in my new one (House #2).
I have homekit devices in the old house to give it the "lived in" look when I am not there.

Everything worked fine - until I started adding homekit devices in my new house.
I setup a 2nd house using homekit - and added a homepod mini to the 2nd house.

As soon as I added the homepod mini to house #2, I lost connection to house #1.
The "Home" application shows all of the devices in house #2 are unreachable.

If I remove the homepod mini from house #2 - house #1 is back online.

Note - I am in house #2.

Has anyone else successfully used homekit in two locations (homes) ?

House #1 has an AppleTV as a hub and multiple lamp controllers and light switches.
House #2 doesn't have anything at the moment.

It should be possible. There is an article on how to do this, but I suspect you probably did everything correctly.

Did you go into 'Home Settings' for both homes and verify that the correct device was set as the hub? (Apple TV for home #1, and HomePod mini for home #2.)
