There would be so many amazing benefits to this.

Baking Devinci Resolve into Final Cut would be a beast of an application and the developers at Blackmagic are very current so maybe we would see updates more frequently. This would easily put them miles ahead of Premiere.

The cameras and other gear would be an amazing touch to Apple's pro lineup and would really solidify their place in the video production industry. Plus marrying Blackmagic and Apple engineers would mean some very spiffy hardware!

Blackmagic already has an office in Silicon Valley so that's an added bonus.

Does anyone else think this would be a good idea?

Merging two apps is too difficult.
Fcp is doing fine.
Resolve too.
There is no synergy between two.
Resolve will bring in their cameras Blackmagic and their own Braw.
Apple has own prores raw it wants to put in all other cameras.
Merger is no go

What for? To merge Resolve with Final Cut? It's like Adobe buying Apple to merge Premiere with FCP. It will be a waste of money.
BM is a hardware maker, not software, on a totally unrelated field than Apple. And Resolve is but a tiny fraction of BM sales and it's used to attract customers to the BM hardware.
