So i have a old ipad 3 and first jailbreak i did on it back than was 7.04 and pretty much i stayed with it ever sense than.

I was wondering should i ditch it for a non ios update or should i stick with it?

I been waiting for the new jailbreak but not sure if it ever will come to us.

What sucks about a old version is you cant install new apps that require a higher up version...

If you download the Cydia app "App Admin" you can downgrade any app from the Apple app store that Apple still signs on to suit your older iOS. The pic shows some of Facebook's older versions available.
