Should I Update to Mojave?

Good day to all. I have a MacBook Air 2017, Had a message this morning to say that there was a new update available ready to install it was the Mojave update.
What do you experts say about the latest update does it have any bad points or is the norm that its a good upgrade, Awaiting any replies from here before I go and install.
Any thoughts Please.

I think its great, no complains here on my 2014 Macbook Air, everything working perfectly.
All you need do is make sure you havent got any specialist software that Mojave is going to kill and if not, go ahead!

Hi Thanks, One point regarding stacks do you have to have them on the desktop and if yes are they large or small icons?

Stacks is on by default, I dont think you can disable it. I might be wrong on that.
But the size of the icons you can adjust to your liking.

If your hard drive is already APFS that will not change with Mojave but if it is JHFS+ then the change will have consequences, particularly if you also run a Bootcamp Windows in your mac.
In my case what stops me to leave High Sierra is precisely that.
I have learned to appreciate applications like DiskWarrior which at this moment unfortunately still cannot correct errors and rebuild volumes in APFS.
I also like the interchangeability I presently have between my Bootcamp Windows (NTFS) and my Mac OSX (JHFS+).
Mojave would seriously affect that.
However this is just me.
In your case maybe no such problems exist concerning your system.

I have the same update prompt and was wondering if Mojave 10.14.1 had been released but that is not the case. It should be available in a week or so - so I have decided to hold off for now. Hopefully 10.14.1 will have fixes for some bugs that are typical of a first release. Also it should have group facetime, catching up with the days when I used to use iChat for video conferencing.

No reason to upgrade, nothing interesting. High Sierra got more important features

I don’t have problems with sleep so for me it’s not broken. Once you start using dark mode you realize light mode wasn’t that bad after all, it’s up to you. I like stacks, and most importantly I like that Mojave is overall faster than High Sierra. I’m not sure it’s a “must-have” upgrade, but to me the last must-have upgrade was Mavericks. Everything that came after has been a bit of a letdown, so it’s cool that Mojave feels like an actual improvement over High Sierra!

I decided to try Mojave on a spare Mac. It is working well and all my old apps seem to be OK, including Boxer/DOSBOx.
My only mistake was to not upgrade/uninstall Liitle Snitch which blocked all I/O. I couldn't even use Activity Monitor to force quit the Little Snitch processes as it reported an incompatibility error. I had to use another Mac to download the uninstaller onto a thumb drive and open it on the Mojave Mac. That fixed the problem.

All the files on my desktop disappeared and Stacks is on. I cannot find them, they are not visible on icloud. What has this update done to my file organization?
