Siri Remote stopped controlling TV Power and Volume

Have been using an appleTV HD and Siri Remote with a six year old Samsung TV for several years. The Siri Remote worked to control the power and volume for the TV….until yesterday.

Out of nowhere, the remote will not control the TV. No changes were made to the AppleTV settings.

Could it be a firmware change to the remote?

Mine was doing the same... but finally started working again after the latest update.
