Skullcandy Pipe issue..

I have recently bought the Skullcandy Pipe portable speaker for my ipod touch. The sound was great but my problem is that after it has been used for some time, both the speaker and the ipod starts to heat up. I know that in some gadgets this is normal, but I just wanted to make sure if this will not have an effect on my ipod touch?

Hope someone could give some useful information. Thanks in advance.:D
