Hi.

I bought a barley used Mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13" some days ago. I changed the HDD to a new SSD, put a fresh OS on and used my Time Machine Back up to restore my files.

When I closed the lid of my old Mac it went to sleep. The status indicator light (SIL) went into breathing mode and stayed like that until I opened the lid again.

With the Mac I have now the SIL also goes into breathing mode when I close the lid, but after an hour the SIL goes off and stays off. When I open the lid, the DVD drive will make this noise, that , with my old Mac, I only used to get when I was starting or restarting. The Mac however is not restarting. I tried a SMC reset, but no change in behaviour.

Yesterday I put in the HDD, that came with the 2012 Mac and the SIL is working normal!

Anyone has any ideas?
