hello i am new here. but anyways i have an external screen that was given to me and i used it for about two week. i had to take my macbook pro somewhere and ever since i detected the screen the boot up has been unbearably slow. what do yall thing this could be.

Have you gone back to the Display preferences and clicked detect displays again. This should make the laptop realise there isn't another display to look for.

Also not many of us who own laptops shut them down all the time. If you just sleep it there is no boot up to go through.
