I have an iPad 9 and have always used it with a simple silicone back cover. To grab it like that is the best ergonomic way, at least for me. I was not satisfied with the "Smart Cover" imitations that we find in Amazon or in other places, precisely because sometimes we need to grab the iPad solely, with nothing attached.
That's why I realized the Smart Cover is really the best acessory. Having the possibility to take it off so smoothly is precisely what I needed. It doesn't cover the back, and I'm searching for something to pair with.
Now, I've found a brand new orange Smart Cover for 10 dollars (10 euros) — wow! I confirm my "theory". I hope this kind of model can be reproduced to other iPad models. I just wanted to share this with you, even I know the future will be bring less classic iPads and less smart covers!
