I was kinda vague but I meant it didn't lay flat on the screen it's too long for the mini itself!

I found that if it doesn't lay flat it is wrapped a little too far around the side, so you have to slide it up a little towards the front. Then it is flat but it does seem to hang over the edge a little more...

mine lays flat enuf for me...it helps to position cover and then let the magnets "grab"

I realized it was a little off hinge I guess. Unlike the larger ipad Smart Cover this doesn't position itself perfectly automatically. So keep trying guys it should work!
