I think it depends on which model you have. The new iPhone 14’s back can be change so you would be keeping the same unit, same serial #. If it’s the iPhone 14 Pro’s they might change the whole unit since the back can’t be interchanged. Correct me if im wrong guys

It’s the 13 Pro Max.

I think they will replace the glass back.

I believe they’ll change out the phone since there’s no easy way to replace the back glass for the 13 Pros

As what doolar mentioned, the surest way to change out the whole phone is to activate Express Replacement service

His title says iPhone 13 Pro Max

Entire phone will be replaced under AppleCare, same policy as out of warranty replacement. The back glass is tightly glued to the back, as well as held on by the camera rings (they are wielded to the housing from the other side), and cannot be easily serviced by itself

Slightly off topic. Is that the same for the iPhone 14PM?

Apple started repairing rear glass with the iPhone 12 series for $29 under AC+. For the 11 series and below it's a replacement. The 13 and 14 series continue this.
