SMB Multi Channel-- can I do it using the internet 1G port and a USB 1G port?

Synology just added SMB Multi Channel support in DSM 7.2, and I'd like to take advantage of it.

My setup would be...
M2 Mac Mini with its internal 1G RJ45 jack
A yet to be purchased USB to 1G RJ45 adapter

Any reason this shouldn't work? Would be on the same switch on the same VLAN, with link aggregation turned off on both devices.

It would be great if I could double the connection speed between them for the price of a USB ethernet dongle!
