Who's waiting for the MWC and the announcements of HTC One 2014, SGS5, Sony Z2, etc?

I'm between waiting or buying a LG G2 now (could get one for just 75€).

I don't think the new HTC One or SGS5 will be much better than the G2.

So who's waiting for MWC? Which phone do you want more?

I'm def. waiting for the GS5 announcement. If it has all the camera goodies of the Note 3 (incl. 4K and 1080p60 video) + windowed multitasking + optical image stabilization + probably the 805, I'll surely get it.

If I buy a flagship Android in 2014 it will be the HTC One (2014) most likely.

But I really doubt I'll get anything. Waiting until the iPhone 6.

I'm excited to see the new S5 and htc One and the upgrades/improvements they have in store but I'll most likely be getting this years Nexus or Note.

It would have to be something amazing to get me to upgrade early.

I'll probably hold out until the Note 4 and iPhone 6 are released, or succumb to my urges and get a N5 before then, but very interested to see what direction Samsung and HTC are taking with the S5 and One 2014.

My next phone will be Note 4. I will always have only the note lines now. Love my note 3..best ever phone I've had.

Being the smartphone addict I am, I must say that my Nexus 5 is second only to my Note 3 by the most narrow of margins. Simply because my personal preference is the larger display.

Conversely there's nothing as sweet as the pure Android 4.4 experience. No bloatware to deal with, and ultimate flexibility. If Google offered a 5.7" Nexus that would be my perfect smartphone.

But alas we know the perfect smartphone doesn't exist :)

I'm excited to see all the new phones but would still wait a few months for the prices to fall first.

Yet it's my understanding Google Edition phones don't get OS updates directly from Google. Is that incorrect?

No that is correct. the drivers are packaged by the OEM with android provided by google (which is a good thing, so they don't have to use generic open source drivers that perform worse, blame qualcomm..etc.), the updates are usually a few weeks behind the nexus.

BlackBerry "Jakarta" is expected to be announced at MWC, although sales are planned to start with just Indonesia.

For those looking for a low-priced phone.

My HTC One X died a premature death in November so I picked up a Moto G to get me to 2014. I was planning on getting a HTC One 2/HTC Two in a couple of months. Then pondering that HTC may not have much life left in it I thought maybe a Nexus 6 or possibly a Moto X2. Between rumors of the Nexus line being killed off and whatever is happening with Motorola I'm wondering if maybe I should just bite the bullet and go SGS 5.

If the iPhone does end up having a larger screen this year, I will go with that. Otherwise I will probably replace my GS4 with a Note 4. Although I have some beef with the camera and build quality, the GS4 has treated me rather well. I'd like to see a google edition Note 4 available at launch but I won't hold my breath.

I'm also keeping an eye on WP 8.1 and whatever devices launch with that.
