Hi Chaps

Hope someone can offer some good advice on which path to take..

3G iPhone are starting to appear on eBay, but your looking at £400+ for the 8gb version

I am looking to by an iphone for my O2 PAYG sim but dont know which path to take

in the UK its looking like December before O2 will release a PAYG iPhone 3G so I was wondering do I buy a first gen 1 phone and stick with that until O2 decide to release the iPhone 3G on PAYG or watch ebay and get a 3G one and Jailbreak, unlock and activate.

I have been reading that 2.0FW has been JB, unlocked etc but there is no app out yet which I am assuming they want to do more testing before its released to everyone.

If I was to get a 3G version and unlock it etc when the software is out and put my O2 PAYG sim in would I just default to GPRS/EDGE when using data or would I be able to take advantage of 3G??

Or am I just best sticking with the 1st gen iPhone till december and use O2 iPhone Web & WiFi Bolton??

Thanks in advance for any advice
