iPod touch Songs on my ipod touch that are not on my itunes.

I seem to be having problems with itunes,
I'm deleting song from my playlist on iTunes,
Yet,
When I sync itunes with my ipod touch, songs I've deleted are on my ipod touch?
Why is this happening?

really stupid question but have you got it set to have iTunes sync with your iPod or is it set to manually manage?

Simple answer. Unless they are synced those tunes also sit on your iPod, so you will have to also remove them from the iPod. Remove them from the main iPod library not from an individual playlist.

I have done that,
Removing songs ftom both.
I'll try that thank you!

Also,
I have an ipod nano that is ten plus years old,
And apparently to get the songs off of it, I have to change the settings to make it a hard drive, then transfer the files on the ipod nano to my laptop, but I have to reset the settings to do so,
If I reset the settings will I lose the songs on my ipod nano?
Hopefully that makes sense.
